Visually Warp Nexus is possibly the most interesting and experimental eye candy of a game that I have ever played, it is using technology that is so new that it was not around when first we gathered here and discussed digital worlds, Wyrmbyte is pioneering technology in a way that no other can compete with and is doing things with computers that I did not believe to be possible not that long ago.
On a technical level the underlying structure of Warp Nexus is building an entire economic system that vastly outcompetes any civilization game and will be a strong competitor against EVE or other resource based trading games, on top of which it does what few others do in these scenarios by layering an action competitive space shooter with very strong gameplay elements using a careers worth of knowledge and expertise gained from every previous project.
The absolute harshest critique I am able to give is that it must bloom fully which takes time. It deserves to reach a point where all of the information present in it's systems is communicated properly to every type of player so that it can be enjoyed by the maximum number of people, it needs to reach a point where the real world economy can flow through it and interact with STARL ecosystem in a way that then allows it to be a launch pad allowing many artists, gamemakers, creators of all types to frame their work within the context of this beautiful project.
These are things that cypherpunk pioneers have been dreaming about since William Gibson and Neal Stephenson novels first described digital worlds, long before computers reached the point of 3D rendering or internet connectivity. What is being done here is incredible. It is a world. The team has succeeded in that. Keep giving them your support if you believe in what they are building.
Before now you might here the term "we are early", this means very little when teams do not deliver, you are now early and have proof of concept in the form of an Alpha of your digital world. Imagine now what this will become, once things are set up to where every artist has opportunity to communicate with their personal art or you get to hang out with friends in a digital/physical arcade which is far different from what we once thought of as a web hosting platform. Think about the character you will present yourself as in this space world inspired by your favorite sci fi. Imagine going to a classroom, gallery, theater, arena, a home you own, interactive spaces- we are already seeing the start of this even if you do not see the full picture yet.
There is a bright future here and a lot of hope. @ScottBrownScorch and the team should really take a step back and let all of this soak in and see what they have built here. Every single person here should consider themselves incredibly lucky that they somehow felt drawn to this project and ended up here rather than somewhere else during these insane times. This is something special and deserves millions upon millions of players enjoying it
